About us

Turf Football Art, or just 'Turf' for short, was founded by Ben in 2016. 

After working for many years as a water engineer, Ben wanted to explore ways in which he could harness his desire to create things for people to enjoy, through the means of digital illustration - something that had been a long-term pastime.

With an interest in architectural aesthetics, a love of travel poster artwork, and a passion for sports, particularly football, Ben started to combine all of these aspects, to develop a range of contemporary illustrations of sports stadiums for fans, given the distinct lack of tasteful memorabilia on offer. Confident in this idea as a business model, Ben quit his job as a water engineer and found a 6 month house-sitting opportunity in Vienna, which enabled Ben to pursue setting up his own creative business. 

Such was the popularity of the illustrations, people wanted to buy them as prints whilst Ben was temporarily living in Vienna. Very soon, Ben became a regular at the local post office in the Northern outskirts of the Austrian capital, shipping off his prints all over the world. 

On returning to the UK in March 2017, Ben worked to grow the business, primarily selling his work on Etsy and Not on the High Street. Since then, the business has achieved selling well over 30,000 prints, and taken requests to make designs for stadiums, big and small, all over the world. 

Notable achievements include partnerships with clubs including with Arsenal FC, providing artwork for a BBC TV programme set and also featuring in some sports themed magazines. 

Now Turf has approximately 1,000 designs of stadiums all over the world as requested by customers over the years, and in doing so has establishing a reputation for quality products and excellent customer service.
